BRIAN - LEAD VOCALS/KEYBOARDS
Brian Leonard is the heart of Man Down – the founder, the lead singer, the keyboardist (and occasionally keytar-ist), and “your emcee for this evening”. He was playing the piano by age four, and by high school he was writing songs and staging in-school concerts to standing-room-only crowds. Brian is a college-educated musician and full-time piano teacher, heavily influenced by the playing and singing of Billy Joel and Paul McCartney (not to mention the raw, boundless energy of Dave Grohl). He has shared the stage with 60’s one-hit-wonders Question Mark and The Mysterians, and longtime Letterman sideman Paul Schaffer. He notes St. Patrick’s Day 2007 (at former SI bar Beer Goggles) as his favorite Man Down gig; his favorite song to play is a toss-up between “Oh What A Night” and “Apache”; his favorite sandwich is a homemade Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak.
