Mike Parascandola is Man Down’s man behind the drum kit, not to mention occasional backup singer. Raised on heavy metal drummers and with nearly a decade’s worth of gigging experience under his belt, Mike is one of Staten Island’s most in-demand – and overworked – session and performance drummers (a resume that includes jamming with the legendary Buck Dharma of Blue Oyster Cult). A former drum instructor and recording engineer, Mike is now working as a Web Developer for the City University of New York. When asked about his favorite Man Down song, not surprisingly, he chooses the one that “gets his heart pumping, the 90’s Dance Medley”. His favorite Man Down gig thus far was a 2008 cruise for the graduates of West Point. His favorite sandwich is “a grilled cheese with two slices of American, a slice of ham, and some cheddar sprinkled on top. Oh, and don’t forget some tomato soup for dipping!”
